Inspiration...
Why marbles? Simply put, they are mesmerizing. Honestly, I owe my inspiration to my son. I’ve spent endless hours watching him build elaborate tracks so that he could race his marble collection. The distinct qualities of each marble caught his eye first as he would name each marble for races based on their unique characteristics. Over the years, we have accumulated hundreds of unique, colorful marbles from stores near and far. The turning point for this idea came during a tropical storm during the pandemic. We were basically sheltered in place and my daughter and I needed a new craft to keep us busy. My son had built a new massive marble track and as he was racing them, I did some research on marble ideas. I read about baking glass marbles and shattering them in ice to create a gorgeous sparkling effect, so we tried it.
